December 19 – Additional fungicide, nematicide, and disease results are available from Dr. Hagan and Dr. Sikora.

December 10 – Results are available for the Macon County/EVSRC On-Farm trial.

December 6 – Results are available for the Henry & Pike County On-Farm Trials.

December 5 – Results from Dr. Austin Hagan’s fungicide screening trial at the BARU are available.

November 15 – Results are available for the Colbert County On-Farm trial.

October 28 – Yields from the following on-farm trials are available.

September 18

September 11

  • Results for the non-irrigated OVT conducted at the EV Smith Research Center (EVSRC) are available.  Due to field variation caused by a large wet area in the field, results reported are from 2 of the 4 replications.
  • Central Region summary tables are updated to include the EVSRC OVT.

September 4 

  • Results are available for the irrigated and non-irrigated OVTs conducted at the Tennessee Valley Research and Extension Center (TVREC) in Belle Mina.
  • Central Region summary tables have been updated.
  • North Region summaries are available.  Note:  The SMREC trial has not been harvested yet.  The tables will automatically update when the SMREC results are uploaded.
  • Management and Weather are available for the OVT conducted at the EV Smith Research Center (EVSRC).

August 29 – Results are available for the non-irrigated corn OVT conducted at the Brewton Agricultural Research Unit (BARU).

August 28 – Results are available for the non-irrigated corn OVT conducted at the Black Belt Research and Extension Center (BBREC) in Marion Junction.

August 21 – Results are available for the irrigated & non-irrigated corn OVTs conducted at the Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center (GCREC) in Fairhope.

August 13 – Results are available for the irrigated & non-irrigated corn OVTs conducted at the Prattville Agricultural Research Unit (PARU) in Prattville.

August 12 – Results are available for the irrigated corn OVT conducted at the Wiregrass Research and Extension Center (WREC) in Headland.  This is a new location for the 2024 season.

Tennessee Valley Research & Extension Center (TVREC)

Yield differences between irrigated and non-irrigated trials at the TVREC were noteworthy.  With 6.5 inches of irrigation, irrigated yields were approximately 2.5 times greater than non-irrigated.

Additionally, three varieties were in the top yield group for both trials.

Drought conditions: The season’s total rainfall was 19.42 inches, with 5.48 inches received May 13-14. Following the May 16th potassium side-dress application, there was a 0.68-inch rain on May 17th. From May 18th, before reproductive growth to harvest, the trial received 8.32 inches of rain.
