A workshop is available to private well owners in or near Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System – Alabama Private Well Program (APWP) is an educational resource available to private well owners throughout Alabama. We want to learn about your groundwater to better understand risks and develop resources to help you maintain your well water quality. Workshop attendees can speak directly with water researchers and APWP staff and learn about the program.
Tentative Workshop Schedule:
6:00 PM – Sign in, welcome, and program introduction
6:10 PM – Basics of well owner stewardship
6:20 PM – Groundwater of Tallapoosa County
6:40 PM – Contamination of groundwater
7:00 PM – Bacterial testing, interpreting test results, and recommended treatment
7:20 PM – Questions
7:30 PM – Adjourn
