Think you can predict the top‑performing PEANUT varieties in Alabama? Enter the 2026 OVT PEANUT Challenge and choose your top picks for Alabama. Anyone can participate. Prizes and bragging rights are on the line!
Prizes:
- Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Growers & Everyone else
- Grower prize: One ton of peanuts for planting in the 2027 growing season
- Everyone else’s prize: 50 pounds of shelled peanuts that can be enjoyed by the winner and maybe even some lucky family and friends
Determining the Winner:
- Scoring will be based on z-score ranking for each category. You can view the 2025 z-scores for reference. Once there, click the “Score Averages” tab. The z-score for each prediction will be recorded, then the six z-scores will be totaled. The contestant with the highest total wins.
- In the case of a tie, the contestant with the earlier submission wins.
Contest Rules:
- One entry per participant. Duplicate entries will be removed.
- Choose one top pick for each category (6): Statewide & Individual Trials (WREC Irrigated, WREC Non-Irrigated, GCREC, BARU, EVSRC).
- Entries must be submitted by September 1, 2026.
- No purchase or affiliation required. Open to all stakeholders subscribed to Auburn OVT updates.
