Join Alabama Watershed Stewards and Town of Pike Road Extension Agriculture Stewardship in learning how to build and install rain gardens.
Rain gardens are a part of stormwater management systems that can be both beautiful and functional. They are shallow, vegetated landscape depressions that slow water for a short time to provide stormwater infiltration, pollutant filtration, native plant habitat, and effective stormwater treatment for small-scale residential or commercial drainage areas.
Presentation material that cover:
What a rain garden is | Why install a rain garden | Basics of stormwater management | Designing a rain garden step by step with hands on activities | Plant selection | Maintenance
Participants will also receive a printed version of our ACES publications on rain garden design.
Location:
Pike Road Agricultural, Recreation, and Performing Arts Center, 6281 Trotman Road, Pike Road, AL 36064
