Alabama Public TV: Spotlight on Water!

by | Jan 11, 2018 | Uncategorized

The Auburn University College of Agriculture has been asked to partner with Alabama Public Television (APT) to develop a series of four one-hour-long episodes that highlight various projects and research related to natural resources and agriculture in Alabama. AWW will be featured during a 15-minute segment in the first episode of the series that is focused on environmental stewardship and water. We are excited to have the opportunity to share what our volunteers do with a broader audience and we hope it will generate some new interest in the AWW Program!

AWW Program Staff and Volunteer Monitors will be featured alongside other faculty and staff with the College of Agriculture, including: Dr. Puneet Srivastava, Director of the Auburn University Water Resources Center, Dr. Eve Brantley, Alabama Cooperative Extension’s Water Resources Specialist, Dr. Matt Waters, a professor with the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences, and several others.

Several of our AWWsome volunteers were also featured in the episode, including Lake Jordan’s Judy May and Christine Kowalksi, and Lake Martin’s Janne Debes. Many thanks to Alabama Public Television, AU’s College of Agriculture Communications (Josh Woods especially!), our volunteers, and all those who participated and made this feature possible! Thank you!

The episode will air on APT Monday, February 5, at 9 p.m. CST. Folks in the Auburn area are invited to an advanced screening of the episode on Wednesday, January 30, at 5 p.m. at Auburn University.

You can read more about the episode on the APT website.
