Thousands of Alabama residents rely on private water systems for water used for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and bathing. With well ownership comes a specific set of responsibilities, because private well owners are responsible for the maintenance, testing, and treatment of their own water system. To assist with this, the AUWRC is offering a series of 30-minute long webinars for homeowners to learn more about what it means to be a well owner in Alabama.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.5″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n When:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. CT<\/p>\n Where:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Online via Zoom, an online video presentation format<\/p>\n Registration is free, but required to attend this webinar series. Part of the initiative includes educational workshops intended to educate communities about water testing options for private well owners while also introducing groundwater basics, best practices for well care, and resources on well water testing in the region. Resources on how to sample private wells, how to interpret sample results, and what individuals can do to protect their well and its source water from contamination are shared during these events. Well owners are also able to ask questions and meet well water contacts in Alabama.<\/p>\n Want to learn more?
