AWW\u00a0has been blessed with some fabulous folks over the years who have given of their time, talent and treasure to the betterment of the Program. Here is\u00a0a recent example.<\/p>\n

We here at the AWW office <\/span>were asked recently about what we\u2019d like to have done in the form of an infographic by our IT assistant, Jennie Powers. She needed to develop an infographic\u00a0for a class she is taking here at AU.\u00a0 I thought for about\u00a0half a\u00a0second and said ALABAMA\u2019S\u00a0AWESOME AQUATIC BIODIVERSITY! In my unbiased opinion, I believe that every child (and adult)\u00a0in Alabama should know that this state ranks NUMBER ONE<\/strong><\/em> among\u00a0all 50 states\u00a0in aquatic biodiversity (including freshwater fish, snails, mollusks, crayfish and turtles!,\u00a0 see Biodiversity in Alabama <\/a>and Fishes of Alabama<\/a>)!\u00a0 The hundreds of beautiful fish species that inhabit our waters (325<\/strong> <\/em>native freshwater species and 100<\/em><\/strong> or more marine species – wow!)\u00a0are true treasures that every Alabamian should be proud of, and\u00a0cherish! Several rival tropical reef fishes in their\u00a0colorful beauty!\u00a0Here are\u00a0a few\u00a0of my favorites:<\/span><\/p>\n

Sorry, I digress.., back to the point – here\u2019s what\u00a0Jennie came up with for her class project\u00a0\u2013 I was blown away! I LOVE it, and asked her if I could share it with our AWW family, since we feel it can be a great educational tool for AWW groups and others across the state.
