DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your interest in attending the Tallapoosa County Well Owner Workshop.\nTuesday\, November 29\, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM\nNew Site Town Hall\, 12791 AL-22\, New Site\, AL 36256 \nA workshop is available to private well owners in or near Tallapoosa County\, Alabama. \nOpportunity to learn about well water resources in Alabama and receive a free bacteria screening of your well water: A workshop is being offered by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System – Private Well Program to residents of and around Tallapoosa County. The event is being held on November 29\, 2022 at 6 PM at the New Site Town Hall. Free bacteria sample screening is available to the first 30 registrants. Any resident with a private well is eligible to participate. Learn about well water testing\, the basics of well stewardship\, and how to interpret water quality test results. Register at aub.ie/apwptallapoosa or call (256) 825-1050. Registrants must obtain sample bottles at either the Tallapoosa County Extension Office or the New Site Town Hall. Sampling instructions will be sent to registrants. \n\n The Alabama Cooperative Extension System – Alabama Private Well Program (APWP) is an educational resource available to private well owners throughout Alabama. We want to learn about your groundwater to better understand risks and develop resources to help you maintain your well water quality. Workshop attendees can speak directly with water researchers and APWP staff and learn about the program. \n\nTentative Workshop Schedule: \n6:00 PM – Sign in\, welcome\, and program introduction\n6:10 PM – Basics of well owner stewardship\n6:20 PM – Groundwater of Tallapoosa County\n6:40 PM – Contamination of groundwater\n7:00 PM – Bacterial testing\, interpreting test results\, and recommended treatment\n7:20 PM – Questions\n7:30 PM – Adjourn \n**Workshop attendance is free but registration is required!** \nREGISTER HERE\nQuestions?\nalwells@auburn.edu \n  \nOnly your name\, email\, phone number\, and mailing address are required to register for this event.
