DESCRIPTION:Alabama Water Watch Stream Biomonitoring Training – Auburn \nREGISTER HERE!\n\nTraining Description: Become a certified Volunteer Monitor through this hybrid (online and in-person) training opportunity! Available certifications include AWW Stream Biomonitoring. You must complete each of the steps outlined below to receive your monitoring certification.\n\nRegister for training through this form by January 13th\, 2026. \nOn January 13th \nParticipate in the Kick-Off Zoom from 12-1 pm. This is not required for certification but will help you navigate the training process and meet AWW Staff. \n\nUse the link and instructions you receive via email following the Kick-Off Zoom to enroll in the Online Courses required for the certification type(s) you requested.\n\nBy Close of Business (5pm Central) on January 22nd \nComplete the self-paced\, online coursework for the monitoring type(s) of interest. \n\nIntroduction to AL Water Watch – This course is required for all monitoring types and must be completed to unlock all other AWW Online Courses. (1 hour)\nStream Biomonitoring Course (2 hours)\n\nOn January 24th\nAttend the in-person Field Day at Mary Olive Thomas Demonstration Forest (MOT) in Auburn\, AL where you will demonstrate your ability to conduct monitoring tests under the observation of an AWW Trainer. \nLocation:\nMary Olive Thomas Demonstration Forest\n3319 Moores Mill Rd\nAuburn\, AL 36830 \nTentative Field Day Schedule: 9am – 12pm \nYou will receive additional details for each of these steps closer to the workshop date. \nThe Alabama Cooperative Extension System (Alabama A&M University and Auburn University) is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
