DESCRIPTION:November 4\, 2025 | 8:00am – 4:30pm\nREGISTER BY CLICKING HERE \n(Municipal employees\, contact LBC@auburn.edu for free registration)\nFairhope Civic Center\, 161 N Section St. Fairhope\, AL 36532\nLunch Provided\nEligible for 0.85 CEUs \n$50 (free for municipal employees) \nJoin us for a one day training about erosion and sediment control (ESC) best management practices outlined in the Alabama Blue Book (Alabama Handbook for Erosion\, Sediment Control and Stormwater Management). Morning presentations will cover the importance of ESC BMP’s on protecting natural resources\, followed by a discussion on quality engineering\, installation\, and maintenance. Anyone registered for the workshop\nHow to participate:\n1. Pick up a sample container from the Dallas County Extension Office by Nov. 18 (429 Lauderdale St.\, Selma\, AL 36701) | Hours: Mon–Fri 8 AM–4PM\nCall (334) 875-3200 for directions\n2. Collect your water sample on the morning of the workshop\n◦ Follow instructions in your registration packet\n◦ Label with date and time of collection\n◦ Bring your sample container and water questionnaire to the workshop \nOptional Extended Testing \nNote: This is an educational screening\, not done through a certified lab.\nHow to participate:\n1. Use a clean plastic bottle (16.9–20 oz) with a screw-on lid (no glass) to collect a sample\nat home.\n2. Complete the AU Soil\, Forage and Water Testing Lab Paperwork and indicate which test you’d like run. Tests available:\n◦ W401 ($15): Metals only (e.g.\, arsenic\, iron\, zinc)\n◦ W301 ($25): Metals + pH\, nitrate\, conductivity\, TDS\n◦ W201 ($30): W301 + sulfate (recommended for wells)\n3.
