2022 Non-Irrigated trials in Central, AL, suffered significant drought during the critical portion of the season, reproduction. As a result, yields were significantly reduced, data was variable, and differences between varieties could not be detected. These results document the hazard of planting a non-irrigated corn trial in a season with extreme drought. The following trials can be viewed individually but are excluded from the analytics portion of the database:

  • EV Smith Non-Irrigated

September 12 – Yield data is available for the Baldwin County irrigated on-farm trial at the Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center in Fairhope.

September 7 –Yield data is available for the irrigated and non-irrigated trials at the Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center (GCREC) in Fairhope.

September 6 – Yield data is available for the irrigated and non-irrigated trials at the Prattville Agricultural Research Unit (PARU) in Prattville (see note added on September 14).

September 1 – Yield data and a couple of general trial images are available for the non-irrigated corn trial at the Brewton Agricultural Research Unit (BARU) in Brewton.
