Description:\u00a0<\/span>Learn to teach youth about water quality in a fun, hands-on way in this Alabama Water Watch and AL Cooperative Extension System 4-H Program 1.5 day workshop. Formal and volunteer educators will learn how to:
\n\u2022 Teach students about the water environment, aquatic ecology, and water pollution with fun, hands-on activities
\n\u2022 Introduce students to aquatic insects of Alabama and the story they tell about water quality in our streams and rivers
\n\u2022 Conduct a stream bioassessment with their students in the field
\n\u2022 Get involved with the 4-H AWW Program
\n\u2022 Access equipment needed to do stream bioassessment<\/span><\/span>The Exploring Alabama\u2019s Living Streams (EALS) curriculum is correlated to the Alabama Course of Study for 4th – 7th grade Science, high school Biology and Environmental Science courses. It is endorsed by AMSTI and correlated to Project Wet. BONUS: Curriculum packet includes a CD-ROM with images and a DVD with corresponding clips from the PBS series, Discovering Alabama. Complete the course to receive 12 CEU\u2019s from Auburn University. Pre-registration is required and participants must attend both days.<\/p>\n

This workshop is being coordinated in partnership with the Alabama Clean Water Partnership (Upper and Middle Tallapoosa River Basin.<\/p>\n
