DESCRIPTION:Alabama Water Watch Bacteriological and Water Chemistry Monitoring Training – University of Montevallo \nREGISTER HERE! \nSpots are limited\, so you might be placed on the waitlist.  \nTraining Description: Become a certified Volunteer Monitor through this hybrid (online and in-person) training opportunity! Available certifications include AWW Water Chemistry Monitoring and Bacteriological Monitoring. You must complete each of the steps outlined below to receive your monitoring certification. \nFollow these steps to get started: \n1.  Register for training through this form by April 9\, 2025. \n2.  Select the monitoring type(s) for which you would like certification through this form. \n3. Complete the online courses for your monitoring type(s) of interest prior to the in-person field session. \n4. Attend the in-person field session on April 11th. \nBy Close of Business (5pm Central) on April 9th \nComplete the self-paced\, online coursework for the monitoring type(s) of interest. Enrollment information is in the confirmation email you will receive after registration. \n\nIntroduction to AL Water Watch – This course is required for all monitoring types and must be completed to unlock all other AWW Online Courses. (1 hour)\nBacteriological Monitoring Course (90 minutes)\nWater Chemistry Monitoring Course (2 hours)\n\nOn April 11th\nAttend the in-person Field Day in Montevallo\, AL where you will demonstrate your ability to conduct monitoring tests under the observation of an AWW Trainer. \nLocation: \nParnell Memorial Library\n277 Park Dr\nMontevallo\, AL 35115 \nField Day Schedule: 9:00am – 4:00pm \n8:45 am – Check in for Water Chemistry Monitoring Session\n9:00 am – Water Chemistry Monitoring Session\n12:00 pm – Lunch (Bring a sack lunch!)\n12:45 pm – Check in for Bacteriological Monitoring Session\n1:00 pm – Bacteriological Monitoring Session\n4:00 pm – End session \nYou will receive additional details for each of these steps closer to the workshop date. \nOnly your name\, email\, phone number\, and mailing address are required to register for this event. We ask for optional information so we can better understand our effectiveness in serving all Alabama citizens and for reporting general\, anonymous statistics to our federal and state funders.
