DESCRIPTION:Alabama Water Watch Stream Biomonitoring Training – Auburn \nSPOTS ARE LIMITED! YOU MAY BE PUT ON A WAITLIST \nOnline registration has closed. Please contact awwprog@auburn.edu if you are interested in participating.  \nTraining Description: Become a certified Volunteer Monitor through this hybrid (online and in-person) training opportunity! Available certifications include AWW Stream Biomonitoring. You must complete each of the steps outlined below to receive your monitoring certification. \nFollow these steps to get started: \n1.  Register for training by January 15th\, 2024. \nOn January 15th \nParticipate in the Kick-Off Zoom from 12-1 pm. This is not required for certification but will help you navigate the training process and meet AWW Staff. \n\nUse the link and instructions you receive via email following the Kick-Off Zoom to enroll in the Online Courses required for the certification.\n\nBy Midnight on January 25th \nComplete the self-paced\, online coursework for the monitoring type(s) of interest. \n\nIntroduction to AL Water Watch – This course is required for all monitoring types (1 hour)\nStream Biomonitoring online content (1 hour)\n\nOn January 27th\nAttend the in-person Field Day in Auburn where you will demonstrate your ability to conduct monitoring tests under the observation of an AWW Trainer. Participants will be expected to follow CDC guidelines regarding in-person gatherings during the training. \nField Day Schedule: 1pm-4pm\n12:45 pm Check-In\n1:00 pm Stream Biomonitoring Session\n4:00 pm Adjourn \nYou will receive additional details for each of these steps closer to the workshop date. \nThe Alabama Cooperative Extension System (Alabama A&M University and Auburn University) is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
