DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 4th (9am – 5pm) & Friday\, June 5th (9am – 12pm) \n\n\nAdd to My Calendar\n\nLocation: New Site\, AL\nDescription: Learn to teach youth about water quality in a fun\, hands-on way in this Alabama Water Watch and AL Cooperative Extension System 4-H Program 1.5 day workshop. Formal and volunteer educators will learn how to:\n• Teach students about the water environment\, aquatic ecology\, and water pollution with fun\, hands-on activities\n• Introduce students to aquatic insects of Alabama and the story they tell about water quality in our streams and rivers\n• Conduct a stream bioassessment with their students in the field\n• Get involved with the 4-H AWW Program\n• Access equipment needed to do stream bioassessmentThe Exploring Alabama’s Living Streams (EALS) curriculum is correlated to the Alabama Course of Study for 4th – 7th grade Science\, high school Biology and Environmental Science courses. It is endorsed by AMSTI and correlated to Project Wet. BONUS: Curriculum packet includes a CD-ROM with images and a DVD with corresponding clips from the PBS series\, Discovering Alabama. Complete the course to receive 12 CEU’s from Auburn University. Pre-registration is required and participants must attend both days. \nThis workshop is being coordinated in partnership with the Alabama Clean Water Partnership (Upper and Middle Tallapoosa River Basin. \nLimited to 30 educators\, so register soon! \nWhen:.
