Climate Change Poster Session

The Climate Change Poster Competition will feature poster presentations by students in RSOC 5650/6650, Sociology of Natural Resources and Environment. The project theme this year is the politics of climate change in the print news media. Research presentations will explore how the media portrays the relationship between climate change politics and the: (1) causes of dramatic weather events, (2) readers’ knowledge, (3) promotion of various energy sources, (4) migration of environmental refugees, and (5) presidents’ use of social media
Presenters will include graduate students from Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Rural Sociology, as well as undergraduate students from Fisheries, Natural Resource Management, Sociology, Environmental Science, Ecological Engineering, Interdisciplinary Studies; and Professional and Public Writing, several of which are seeking minors in Nature Based Recreation, Urban Environmental Sciences, Leadership Studies, Anthropology, Rural and Community Development, and Sustainability Studies. Additionally, four students from the Honors College are enrolled this year.
